First day of a new language

Some kindergarteners at Regency Place Elementary School couldn’t understand much on the first day of class. The children - half Spanish speakers, half English - are in a recently expanded dual language program that will make them bilingual.

Learning to dance to hip hop provides a shot of self esteem for Alyssa Hernandez and Dominique Jimenez. They’re deaf, but they can shake it just like anyone else. The pair will perform June 27 with the San Antonio Deaf Dance Company at Clark High School.
